Who is FAAF

The Fulshear Area Aquatic Foundation is a non-profit organization designed to help provide aquatic programming, partnerships and scholarships to our local swimming communities.

FAAF is not a swim team but is a 501(c)3 organization that partners with local swimming facilities, businesses, neighborhoods and programs to provide customized, qualified, certified aquatics classes, lessons, coaching, clinics, etc for the community.

How did FAAF start? :   The start of FAAF was inspired by the heart of a young swimmer named Wyatt (age 10) who swam on the Fulshear Racing Swim Team, (FRST).  During the early months of the pandemic shut-down, the team was not able to practice.   After four months, they had their first practice back in the neighborhood pool.   Wyatt showed up and handed his coach a $20 bill from his bag as he walked through the gate.  Surprised and confused, his coach asked what he was doing. He simply stated:  "I missed swimming a lot, and I heard that you and another coach had lost your jobs during the pandemic, and I don't want you to stop being able to coach."  His mom later would tell his coach that this was his own idea, and was his own birthday money that he wanted to give to support the coaches and his team could keep meeting.   With his $20 gift,  the FAAF organization was founded in late 2020 with the goal to promote the same heart motive behind his donation and help other young swimmers be a part of the positivity that comes from participating in swimming programs.

This past year (2021) and looking forward:

In it's first year, FAAF began to organize and raise funds to provide swim clinics for youth and adults. The goal of providing a scholarship  to a local swim lesson organization was also met.    Additionally, FAAF plans to be able to provide scholarships at the water safety,  lessons, summer league, High School and club levels of the sport and provide a large local swim event in the Summer/Fall of 2022.

What area will FAAF cover:   The Fulshear area in Texas is one of the fastest growing cities and suburbs in America.  The population has almost doubled in the last five years and is expected to do the same in the next five. The Fulshear Area Aquatic Foundation plans to work within Fulshear and the neighboring communities to promote swim programs and aquatic activities.

How to get involved:

FAAF is looking for partners in the aquatic industry to help support the goal of reaching our community for aquatics.  That partnership can be monetary donations, in kind support, advertisement on their webpage and social media, and other partnerships that help meet the missions and goals of the organization.   Thank you for your interest and support of FAAF.  We look forward to working with you.
