Head Coach Andrew DiGiacomo brings 20 years of coaching experience and over 30 years of overall swimming experience to Mystic Swimming. Taking over the program 11 years ago, Coach Andrew's goal has been to grow the Mystic program to one of the the strongest within Massachusetts. Recent accoloades include being named Massachusetts High School coach of the year by the Boston Globe, EMISCA High School Boys coach of the year, and is the 5x CAC coach of the year. Within the MWSL league conference, the Mystic team has won the conference championship in 7 of 9 eligible years of competition.
Andrew began his coaching career at the collegiate and club level in 2008 with Pace University as an assistant coach and recruiting lead. Also in 2008 Coach Andrew led the Xcel group at Empire swimming in White Plains, NY. Empire is a perennial top 50 USA program in the United States. In 2010 Coach Andrew became a graduate assistant coach at Bryant Universy in Smithfield, RI pursuing his MBA while continuing his coaching career. After graduating, Andrew moved to the Boston area and with his wife, Erin DiGiacomo, took over the Mystic Swimming program.
Erin and Andrew reside in Andover MA with their 3 kids.

Coach Justin Anthony brings more than a decade of coaching expertise and over 30 years of immersion in the swimming world to Mystic Swimming. As a graduate of swimming and diving from Gannon University, his path has taken him to a successful career in the pharmaceutical industry. Justin is a seasoned mentor who began his journey with Mystic Swimming over 10 years ago, coaching our younger swimmers, and now leads as the head coach for our Senior programs.
Fun fact: Justin has three kids; one who has graduated from our swim program, and two who are currently enrolled.
Coach Taylor Cossette is the head coach for the Senior 1 (along with Coach Chris Hill ) and Barracudas groups. He began swimming with our program in 2005 as a Mystic Valley seventh grader. By eighth grade Taylor had begun to work with Mystic Valley’s Learn to Swim Program as one of the student volunteers. In high school, Taylor continued swimming for Mystic Valley and volunteering with the Learn to Swim Program. After high school Taylor began coaching with Mystic Swimming while also teaching young swimmers at the Melrose YMCA. Swimming has been a passion of Taylor’s for as long as he can remember and he looks forward to another exciting year with our program.
Chris Hill - Senior 1 Lead Coach
Coach Chris Hill brings decades of coaching experience to Mystic Swimming. He began his swimming career at the Lynn YMCA and Boston College High School, contributing to two sectional titles. Chris has been a dedicated water safety instructor for the Revere School District since 1996. His coaching journey includes roles as head coach at Revere High School, co-head coach for the Garfield Gators, and assistant coach at several YMCAs and swim clubs. Today, he teams up with Coach Michael to lead our Senior 1 group.
Fun fact: Chris was Taylor's coach when Taylor was 10, and 20 years later, Taylor returned the honor and coached Chris's son.
Coach Michael Leung brings 17 years of extensive swimming experience to Mystic Swimming. As a UMass Lowell alumnus, Michael transitioned seamlessly from a swimmer to a coach, sharing his insights from high school and college where he dominated numerous team and league records. His background in digital marketing adds a fresh perspective poolside helping to modernize Mystic Swimming.
Fun fact: Michael feeds his love for the sport by swimming with the Senior 2 group.
Coach Vanessa Santos brings over 10 years of coaching experience with a blend of domestic and international swim experience. As a former swimmer on the Brazilian Junior National Team, Vanessa continues to nurture her swim passion by occasionally competing in USA Masters meets. Outside of the pool, Vanessa's professional career in healthcare spans over 20 years, demonstrating her enduring commitment.
Fun fact: Vanessa had been a part of the Mystic Swimming family for over 6 years when her daughter joined the team. Today, this mother-daughter duo collaborates in coaching the Dolphins group.
Coach Hallie Campbell brings a diverse athletic background to her coaching role, having grown up swimming competitively in Glastonbury, CT. She set four relay team records at Glastonbury High School. She played three years of Division 1 lacrosse at Quinnipiac University before transferring to Bryant University to swim for their Division 1 program. Hallie has experience coaching at her summer swim program and teaching private lessons. She currently works as a sales representative for Cintas and maintains a strong passion for swimming and CrossFit.
Coach Jake Williams is a former standout swimmer at Mystic Valley, where he was an MIAA sectional champion in the 100 Butterfly and set five high school records, with one still standing. Jake continued his swimming career at Bryant University, competing for the Division 1 program and serving as team captain for two years. As a butterfly specialist, he contributed to two conference championships. Jake graduated in 2023 with a BSBA in Finance and Applied Analytics and was selected as the Recent Alumni Trustee, serving a three-year term on the Board. He currently works as an Investment Analyst at John Hancock/Manulife and is studying to become a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Coach Colin Callahan brings a wealth of competitive swimming experience, having grown up swimming with the Andover/North Andover Hurricanes and later the Merrimack Valley Pirates. He was captain of the Ipswich High School swim team and went on to compete at Keene State College, focusing on the 200 IM before transitioning to the 100 breaststroke. Colin holds a B.S. in Environmental Studies from Keene State and worked as the head lifeguard and swim instructor at Camp Evergreen in Andover, where he developed his passion for water safety and coaching.
Taylor Gibson - Assistant Coach Senior 1/Senior 2
Coach Taylor Gibson swam for Mystic Swimming for 11 years, with 5 of those years being part of the MV varsity team as well. While on the varsity team, she was a captain her senior year and part of the record breaking 400 free relay (which has since been broken). Taylor was a collegiate swimmer, swimming for 5 years at the University of New England. She specialized in backstroke and distance swimming and served as captain in the 4th year. Taylor has both her bachelors and masters degrees in Marine Science and she currently works as a Research Associate at Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute (GMGI).
Erin Reilly - Assistant Coach, Barracudas
Coach Erin Reilly brings over 10 years of coaching experience and a lifelong passion for swimming. She swam competitively through high school, where her love for the sport grew. Outside of the pool, Erin is a dedicated 3rd grade special education teacher at Mystic Valley Charter School, balancing her professional career in education with her commitment to coaching.
Coach Lana has been a fish in the water since she was a young child and fully committed herself to Mystic Swimming 5 years ago. Shortly after joining the team, Lana volunteered in Mystic Valley Charter School's Learn to Swim program, swimming alongside beginner swimmers and later assisted our coaches in the Dolphins program, which keeps her young at heart. Lana has been a state qualifier for four years and proudly holds the record in the 200-free relay with three of her teammates.
Fun fact: Lana aspires to study sports medicine and kinesiology and plans to keep swimming throughout her college years.
Coach Isabella Cirame is a passionate swimmer with over a decade of commitment to Mystic Swimming. She began her coaching journey with the Mystic Valley Charter School's learn-to-swim program over three years ago, and she has recently taken on coaching the Dolphins group for a little over a year. Isabella's dedication to swimming has earned her two top-10 finishes at the state level and two MVP awards for the Mystic Valley Varsity swim team.
Fun fact: Isabella's family has been a part of Mystic Swimming for over 16 years.
