EUGENE HULLEY

I was born and raised in South Africa and began swimming at the age of 11. The most memorable moments of my 14-year swimming career include competing at the Mare Nostrum meet in Barcelona, Spain, and Cannes, France, with the highlight being representing South Africa at the 2004/2005 FINA World Cup. I started my coaching career part-time at 17 while still competing as a swimmer. After retiring from competitive swimming in 2006, I decided to focus on becoming a full-time swim coach.
In 2007, I launched Trident Swimming Academy in Durban, South Africa. This year-round swim team operated out of St. Henry’s Marist College, where I also built and grew the swim programs for both the primary and high school teams. After 10 years of running Trident Swimming Academy, my wife and I relocated to California in 2017. In California, I began coaching for the Pleasanton Seahawks swim team in the Bay Area, where I coached various groups, including the intermediate, Pre-Junior, and Pre-Senior groups.
In August 2021, I was fortunate to join North Coast Aquatics as the coach for both the 11-13 Silver and Senior groups. I am passionate about the beautiful sport of swimming and look forward to making a positive impact within the NCA team. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, spending time outdoors, mountain biking, kayak fishing, walking my huskies on the beach, and spending time around the barbeque with friends and family.
JOHANNA DELEON
Johanna has a lifelong passion for water polo and swimming, which she pursued through college. She began teaching swimming 37 years ago to finance her college expenses and started her coaching career as a volunteer at Mt. Carmel High School. This experience led to a four-year stint coaching the Mt. Carmel JV boys and girls teams, as well as assistant and head coach positions at PQ Aquatics.
Over the years, Johanna has coached swimmers of all levels, from 10 & Under to Master Swimmers (Adults). She has been a part of NCA since 2010 and is also a dedicated professional educator, now in her 31st year of teaching. In 2022, she was honored as District Teacher of the Year for her school district.
Johanna is actively involved in the USA Swimming officials' community and is certified to officiate at national swim events, including the Olympic Trials, as a Stroke and Turn judge. You might also see her as an Administrative Official, verifying swim times at meets and organizing team entries. She has had the opportunity to officiate at NCAA college meets as a Stroke and Turn judge.
Her son completed his journey at NCA, progressing from a Bronze level swimmer to the Senior 1 group. Johanna's dual perspective as both a parent and a coach provides her with unique insights into the NCA swim journey. Get ready for a great ride as part of the swim family!

KARISSA ISAAC

Karissa swam competitively on a swim scholarship at Boston University, where she was an American East Conference record holder in the 200 butterfly. At Boston University, she studied Biology, served as Swim Team captain, and was the athlete representative to the NCAA.
Karissa began swimming in Santa Fe, New Mexico, at the age of 5. As an age group swimmer, she competed at Zones and Junior Nationals, creating some of her fondest memories with her teammates, both in the pool and on deck, working towards big dreams. She attributes her love for the sport to her own Age Group coach. Swimming opened many doors for her as a student-athlete, teaching her the importance of good work ethic, teamwork, leadership, and much more.
Karissa met her husband on a winter swim training trip in Ft. Lauderdale. Together, they started Azulfit, combining their love of travel, health, and wellness. Karissa has been an NCA swim parent since 2016. At NCA, she has seen her kids gain confidence, learn to set goals, appreciate the value of teamwork, acquire new skills in and out of the pool, and form close, supportive friendships. She looks forward to working with your swimmer to share the joy of swimming in a safe, fun, and positive atmosphere with NCA!
MEGAN GEISLER
I began swimming competitively at the age of 7 and continued through all four years of college at Indiana University. I was mainly a breaststroker, but I also competed in the I.M. Growing up, I was always in or around the pool, whether it was swimming multiple practices a day, teaching lessons, coaching swim teams, lifeguarding, or just hanging out by the pool. During my high school and college summers, I coached all age groups and served as the head coach of a local summer team for a season. I also taught many years of Red Cross Swim Lessons as well as private lessons.
I graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and a minor in Psychology. I then attended physical therapy school at the University of Wisconsin, where I earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. While studying to become a physical therapist, I also obtained my Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. After school, I moved to San Diego and have since worked as a physical therapist in various settings, including aquatic therapy, orthopedic and sports therapy, and inpatient hospital care. I returned to coaching in 2021 with NCA, helping out the Bronze group.
Outside of coaching and working at the hospital, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two kids, both of whom are currently with NCA. As a family, we enjoy hiking, spending time at the beach, and camping. I am excited to be part of the NCA family! Being part of the swimming community for so many years has led to many long-term friendships and taught me numerous life lessons, including how to set goals, manage time, work hard, be a team player, and develop the motivation and drive needed to succeed in and out of the pool. My goal is to instill these same life lessons in my swimmers in a safe, positive, and fun environment. I look forward to meeting and coaching your swimmer.
