Bronze Shark (Target Age 9-12) 

This is an entry level developmental group and is considered our intermediate group. The primary focus of the Developmental group is to have fun and learn the fundamentals of competitive swimming. Swimmers are taught to perfect their Freestyle and Backstroke technique, while learning the basics of Butterfly and Breaststroke. Recommended attendance is 2-3 practices per week.

Requirements for entry into Bronze Shark:

• Swim 50 yards of Freestyle with bilateral breathing
• Swim 50 yards of Backstroke Legally with correct body position
• Swim 25 yards of Breaststroke  
• Perform Butterfly kick and (begin to use butterfly arms) be familiar with the stroke
• Demonstrate courteous behavior towards coaches and other swimmers

**Advancements from group to group will be based on coaches’ discretion. At any point during the season, the coaching staff reserves the right to change a swimmer to another group as necessary.
