World Championship's Update
Did you know Bluefish have 3 athletes competing at World Championships this week? 1-Elizabeth Beisel Country-USA, 2-AnaMaria Castellanos Country-Honduras, 3-Dorian McMenemy Country-Dominican Republic
Three members of the Bluefish Swim Club are competing at the 2011 FINA World Championships in Shanghai, China, which takes place July 24–31. This meet represent the biggest international competition of the year, and the best indicator of success at the upcoming Olympic Games in London in 2012.
- Elizabeth Beisel, 19, of Saunderstown, RI, is representing the United States and competing in the Female 200-meter backstroke and 400-meter IM (individual medley). Elizabeth competed in these same events in the 2008 Olympics.
- Ana Castallanos, 15, of Holden is representing Honduras and competing in the Female 200-meter Breastroke and 400-meter IM.
- Dorian McMenemy, 14, of Northboro is representing the Dominican Republic and competing in the Female 50-meter and 100-meter fly.

Elizabeth prelims backstroke placed 3rd for Semi's 2:08.40, at Semi's this morning our time.. Elizabeth better her time with a 2:07.8 also seeding her third for Finals tomorrow! Big Congrats to USA Missy Franklin for setting the new American Record in the 200BK seeded 1st with a 2:05.90!
Ana Castallanos 200Breastroke was a best time 2:45.63!
Dorian McMenemy’s 50Fly 29.37, her 100Fly 1:06.58 best times!
