USA SWIMMING REGISTRATION

New Swimmers: All new swimmers to the team will have to fully register with USA Swimming before their first official practice. This includes swimmers who joined us in late spring or early summer.

  • When you go through your registration this time, it will be for all of 2023 but they will also give you the end of 2022 for free.
  • The reason we did not charge you full price in spring was USA Swimming allows new swimmers an extra 4 months of swim on their very first registration but ONLY if you register in September. If you had paid full price in say July, you would have to pay again for 2023. This is their way of prorating it for new swimmers who join in fall.
  • Please follow this link to register as a new swimmer: https://omr.usaswimming.org/omr/welcome/49D344658DD9B3
  • Here is a link to all USA Swimming resources: https://www.usaswimming.org/about-usas/resources/swims-database/coaches-team-leaders

Returning Swimmers: The LSC has informed me that your registration process will be a little different. You will have to register your account as a parent and then add your swimmer to your family:

  • Use this LINK To SET UP USA SWIMMING LOGIN
  • Use these instructions How to create a new USA Swimming Login
  • The parent should always set up their account in their name.
  • Once the family account is created they can add family members.
  •
At this step it will ask them for their swimmer's new ID. This is NOT their old USA Id. Email me for their ID.\
  • Once this is complete, the system will tell you your swimmer is cleared through the end of 2022. At this time, you do NOT need to pay for the next year if you would like to wait.
  • HOWEVER, we want to remind you that this WILL need to be completed before 2023 to remain on the team. If you already paid it, you are all done until December 2023. Otherwise this needs to be taken care of before 2023.

BIG TEAM PRACTICES AND PARENT MEETING

This season we are going to be having one Saturday morning practice per month as an entire team workout. This will give our younger swimmers the chance to meet our older swimmers and team captains as well as having a little bit of fun and extra stroke work together. Below is the scheudle for those practices:

  • SEPT 24th
  • OCT 29th
  • NOV 26th
  • DEC 24th
  • JAN 14th (Swim-a-Thon)
  • FEB 25th

September 24th we will also be having a parent meeting/picnic at the YMCA. Kids will have their practice first (6-8 AM) and then we will have little snacks for all the kids/parents and have a meet and greet and I will address the team. There we can go over all things for the season and I can answer any of your questions. (For those who cannot make it to this meeting, I will be also having a zoom meeting Tuesday September 27th at 7 PM.)

SWIM-A-THON

We will be having our annual swim-a-thon on Saturday January 14th. This will be a 1 hour fun and games water session for Kraken and Leviathan with our Poseidon/Triton/Hydra swimmers helping out then a 2 hour swim for our Hydra/Triton/Poseidon group.

  • Minimum swim-a-thon donation for families will be lowered this year due to the YMCA offering to help us out a bit.
  • Minimum donation for a family will be $100 this year.
  • ALL of the minumum donation money will go directly to the YMCA in the form of a donation to offset lane costs.
  • Any donations ABOVE $100 will go towards the Atlantis Aquatics team and be used for our social events, end of season party, team gifts, team related extra goodies, etc.

SOCIAL EVENTS

This year we have a few social gatherings planned for the swimmers:

  • Halloween costume contest (OCT 29th big team practice)
  • Thanksgiving food donation contest (2 teams run by our captains)
  • Christmas pancake breakfast (DEC 24th big team practice)
  • Swim-a-thon (JAN 14th big team practice)
  • End of Season Party (Week of March 20th-25th TBD)

LET'S HAVE A GREAT YEAR GUYS!!
