MARCH END OF SEASON EXTENSION FOR REGULAR TEAM

  • In order to make up some lost time for our swimmers from November, the PIP is going to extend our rental one week in March (you will not be charged for this extension, ATLA will cover this cost).
  • Pre-team will end for the season on March 19th as previoulsy planned.
  • Due to this extension, it will allow us to attend the TSSA championship meet at UNH on March 24-26. This is a great end of season opportunity for all of our newer swimmers and those in Triton and below.

MEETS FOR 2023

  • There are five (5) regular season events left on our meer calendar:
    • Jan 6-8 @ MIT (Better for Leviathan and up swimmers)
    • Jan 27-29 @ PHX (GREAT for first timers!)
    • Feb 10-12 @ CRA (Better for Leviathan and up swimmers)
    • Mar 17-19 @ CRA (Better for Leviathan and up swimmers)
    • Mar 24-26 @ UNH (GREAT for first timers! Everyone in Triton and below should try and attend this meet! Poesion swimmers welcome!)
  • We are still going to try and have a mock meet at the PIP on a Friday evening to try and teach some parents how to time and teach newer swimmers how meets work.

CHRISTMAS TEAM STORE

  • Our apparel vendor, Bullshirt, has finished our team store set up! These items will only have a TWELVE (12) DAY ORDER WINDOW and will close on December 31st!
  • All items will be picked up and distributed by ATLA on January 20th (so a few days after our Swim-a-thon).
  • A small portion of all purchases will be put into an account for our team for future purchases on apparel and other items for kids and coaches.
  • Anyone who needs more ATLA merch in their life, get on this deal quickly!

SWIM-A-THON

  • Saturday January 14th will be our team swim-a-thon.
  • Poseidon, Triton, and Hydra will all do a two hour swim from 6-8 AM.
  • Posedion will swim two hours straight and attempt to go the most distance possible. There will be a prize for the furthest distance swum for boys and girls.
  • Triton and Hydra will warm up from 6-6:30, then do an hour straight swim for distance from 6:30-7:30, followed by a warm down until 8 AM.
  • Kraken and Leviathan will do an hour swim from 7-8 AM. We will warm up a little and then do a straight swim for distance (kraken will do 15 mins, Leviathan will do 30).
  • Every family has a minimum $100 donation obligation (per family, not per swimmer). This can come in the form of sponsors from family/friends or can be charged directly to your TeamUnify account.
  • Sponsors should donate a flat rate (instead of per length/lap) as hunting down each sponsor with final lap numbers and totals would be.... highly nutty to say the least. Donations can be made by check, cash, or venmo. If check or cash, be sure to make a note of which swimmer it is for in the memo section!
  • We are planning on giving out a prize to the top fundraiser in each training group as well as the top fundraiser overall.
  • This year we also hoping to have a tiered prize system for donors as well (i.e. $50 gets you this prize, $100 gets you this prize, etc) but we have to check on what merch we have around for something like that. I will have final details on ALL prizes released next Monday December 26th.

SATURDAY MORNINGS AT THE YMCA

  • The YMCA has finally hired their new executive director and our own coach DJ is now their aquatics director, YAY!
  • We have been working with new leadership in order to solidify Atlantis Aquatics position in the facility and to ensure our relationship continues to be a positive one.
  • One of the things that was brought up was our Saturday morning time slot, which we currently rent while the main facility is closed.
  • Due to some issues in the past and liability issues, we have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be allowing anyone who is not a swimmer (parents, Y members, etc) in the building on Saturday mornings while the facility is closed (Pancake breakfast will be an exception!).
  • Moving forward, doors will be unlocked for swimmers 10-15 minutes prior to the start of practice and will be locked again 10 minutes after practice begins.
  • If your swimmer arrives late, they can come knock on the pool windows and we will send a coach to let them in.
  • Thank you guys for your understanding, we appreciate your patience with us while we work to make sure we have the best possible relationship with our pools!

Have a great week all and happy holidays!!!
