***ATLA WEATHER CANCELLATIONS***

Good morning team,

I apologize for the mixed massages lately about lightning and swimming at the PIP. They have changed their policy on this at least 4 times in the 7 years I have been here and it is getting very frustrating. 

According to the CDC, indoor pools (as long as the equipment is grounded) have never reported a lightning strike hurting a patron. However, they state they are unsure if this is because pools get swimmers out anyways out of an abundance of caution, hance no lightning deaths. 

I have reached out to the recreation director for a formal written policy from them, especially considering the roof is made of fiberglass. Until I get somthing in writing I can send to all of you, I will be taking the kids out of the water in the event we have another storm like Monday. 

Tonight we should be ok, looks like storms will pass through in the 3-6 PM range. But in case it looks like it will be nasty, please stay close when you drop off your swimmers!
