PRACTICE CHANGES

  • No changes to any practices this week! (Swim-a-thon will take place during regular practice hours!)

 

SWIM-A-THON

  • DETAILS
    • Kraken, Leviathan, and Siren's Swim-a-thon day is Wednesday January 22nd from 6:30-7:30 PM.
    • Hydra, Triton, and Poseidon's Swim-a-thon day is Friday January 24th from 5-7 PM (Hydra is two hours that day!)
    • Poseidon and Triton will swim two hours straight and attmept to go the most distance possible. There will be a prize for the furthest distance swum for boys and girls. Equipment is optional for Triton.
    • Hydra will warm up for the first half hour, then do an hour straight for distance, then warm down the last half hour. Equipment is optional for Hydra.
    • Leviathan and Siren will do a 30 minute straight swim with warm up and warm down before and after. Equipment is optional for Leviathan and Siren.
    • Kraken will do a 10-15 minute straight swim. Equipment is optional for Kraken.
  • DONATIONS
    • ​Every family has a minimum fundraising goal of $200, unless you bought out of the swim-a-thon fee on registration.
    • Donations can come in the form of sponsorships from friends/family or will be automatically charged to your Team Unify account in February.
    • Sponsors should donate a flat rate (instead of per length/lap) as hunting down each sponsor with final lap numbers and totals would be highly nutty. 
    • Donations can be made by check, cash, or venmo. If cash or check, please be sure to make note of which swimmer it is for in the memo section or in a labeled envelope. 
  • PRIZES
    • The top fundraiser in each training group (kraken, leviathan, etc.) will receive a team fleece blanket.
    • In the event of a tie, the prize will go to the swimmer with the higher number of donators. 
    • The grand prize for the highest amount donated will be a custom team parka!
    • The prize for the furthest distance swum (boy and girl) will be a custom ATLA water bottle.
    • If you use equipment you forfeit the furthest distance prize.
    • Donations are being taken starting December 9th and will end on January 31st. That means you can still get some donations in after the swim-a-thon is over!

SWIM-A-THON STANDINGS

  • I have updated the money list for every swimmer. You can check this out by CLICKING HERE!
  • This should include credits for jobs worked this weekend ($25 per session per family member). If you see an error anywhere, PLEASE let me know asap!
  • $200 is required by every FAMILY, not individual swimmer. This means if you have 2 swimmers on the team, you still only are on the hook for $200, not $400. 
  • Donations are being accepted until Jan 31st!
  • All extra funds up to the $200 will be added to your team unify accounts for a February 1st bill cycle.
