Shawmut Excels at 12 & Under Championships!

Thirty-one Shawmut swimmers competed in Vermont, 2/19-2/22, at the New England 12 & Under Championships. Over 75 teams attended the meet and Shawmut placed 3rd with 1,444 points. Over the course of the weekend, 14 team records were broken! Congrats to our individual record breakers: Marin Lang (200 free, 500 free), Christine Yang (50 fly), Shawn Nee (50 free, 50 back, 200 back), and Carly Adams (50, 100, & 200 breaststroke). The 11-12 girls 400 free relay (Adams, Yuan, Pierce, Brindisi) set a new team record by over 3 seconds, posting a time of 3:56.04. The 11-12 boys 200 free relay (Nee, Beland, Cohen, Hutchinson) posted a team record of 1:48.82. The Shawmut 9-10 girl relays proved to be the strongest in team history, crushing the 200 free, 400 free, and 200 medley relay records. Teaming up in these relays were Haley McCurdy, Marin Lang, Christine Yang, Elsie Slowe, and Claire Milne. Way to go!
 
Congratulations to our top 8 high-point winners. On the girl's side, Alex Brindisi took 8th place (147 points) and Carly Adams took 5th place (158 points). Shawn Nee took 3rd place overall for the boys (186 points). Shawmut's spirit and enthusiasm during all 7 sessions of competition showed New England what a TEAM effort can accomplish. Awesome job everyone!!
