Shawmut Swimmers Travel to Orlando, Florida for Junior Nationals!
Ten Shawmut swimmers traveled to Orlando, Florida to compete at Junior Nationals. Over 200 teams from around the country attended the meet. It was a very fast meet and the Shawmut swimmers represented our program well! The group who attended includes: Lauryn Brown, Gabe Davis, Clare Foster, Meg Hutchinson,Ray McGorry, Emily Metta, Sammy Neumann, Roy Sung, Eddie Timmerman, and Katy Zingale. Ray McGorry had a stand-out weekend, finaling the in breaststroke events. He swam best times in the 200 yard breaststroke, the 100 meter breaststroke, and the 200 meter breaststroke. He also set team records in these events. Our girls 400 Medley Relay and boys 400 Medley Relay also set team records! The girls medley relay of Meg Hutchinson, Clare Foster, Katy Zingale, and Lauryn Brown set a team record by 3 seconds, posting a time of 3:53.65. The boys Medley Relay of Gave Davis, Ray McGorry, Roy Sung, and Eddie Timmerman broke the previous team record by less than a second, posting a time of 3:33.01. Great job everyone!
The Shawmut swimmers and Coach Matt finished up a fun 6 days in Florida with a well-deserved trip to Disney World!!
