Crimson claims 2nd place overall at Sectionals

A cold weekend in Ithaca, NY didn’t stop our swimmers from performing their best. 638 points scored over this weekend came from phenomenal swims. Individual point scorers include: Hana Batt (6), Mitchell Gariepy (65), Billy Knaul (45), Ali Robertson (50), and. Andrea Wei (53). Key highlights from this weekend:

  • The women’s 800 free relay finished 2nd overall, the 400 free relay placed 8th, and the 400 medley relay placed 7th
  • The men’s 200 medley and 400 free relay finished 5th, their 200 free relay 7th, and 400 medley relay 3rd.
  • Mitchell Gariepy won the 100 breaststroke, shattering his own record, placed 8th in the 50 and 100 free, and won the 200 IM
  • Billy Knaul placed 5th in the 100 fly and 8th in the 100 free.
  • Ali Robertson finished 3rd in the 400 IM, 8th in the 200 breast, and 6th in the 200 IM.
  • Andrea Wei placed 3rd and broke her own team record in the 100 fly; placed 2nd, broke her team record, and qualified for summer nationals in the 200 fly; and placed 5th in the 100 free.
