| Class Description |
During this level, our focus is on body position. Swimmers should be increasing their backstroke and freestyle distance to 12.5 meters using correct techniques. Swimmers should be working on maintaining a good, strong, continuous kick on top of the water for backstroke and freestyle. Swimmers should be learning correct breathing for freestyle. Swimmers should be streamlining with a freestyle kick under water for up to 5 meters in length. Swimmers will be taught one-knee dives in this level. During this level, swimmers should be able to retrieve objects from under the water in the shallow end. |

Swimmers should be working on maintaining a good, strong, continuous kick on top of the water for all strokes. Swimmers should be learning correct breathing for freestyle, breaststroke, and butterfly. Swimmers should be streamlining with a freestyle kick under water for up to 8 meters in length. Swimmers will be taught standing dives at this level. During this level, swimmers should be able to retrieve objects from under the water in the deeper end. |

- Complete 5 meters backstroke streamline with kicking
- Complete 5 meters freestyle streamline under water
- Learn the basics of the breaststroke (breaststroke kick, arms, and breathing)
- Introduction to one-knee dives
- Introduction to flip turns
- Tread water for 1 minute
- Introduction to butterfly kick

- Swim 25 meters backstroke with good technique unassisted
- Swim 25 meters freestyle with good technique unassisted
- Swim 25 meters strong backstroke kick with good technique unassisted
- Swim 25 meters strong freestyle kick with good technique unassisted on kick board
- Complete 10 meters backstroke streamline kick
- Complete 8 meters freestyle streamline kick under water
- Swim to the bottom of the pool and retrieve an object from the bottom
- Demonstrate a standing dive unassisted and correct
- Tread water for 2 minutes
- Swim breaststroke for 25 meters with good timing
- Introduction to the butterfly stroke
