William McClelland Named to USA Swimming Scholastic All-American Team

USA Swiming has announced its 2021 Scholastic All-American Team, and Gator Swim Club - Seekonk's William McClelland joins the impressive roster of 1,231 student-athletes, including Olympians Lydia Jacoby and Torri Huske. 

In order to be considered for this year's team, swimmers had to earn a GPA of at least 3.5 for the 2020-2021 school year and achieve a 2019 Winter Junior qualifying time in any individual event between September 1, 2020 and August 31, 2021. William, a junior at Barrington High School, qualified for Juniors in the 100 fly at this summer's NCSA Championships with a time of 57.07. 

The highly selective team features 285 athletes from the Eastern Zone, and William is one of just 34 student-athletes from New England to earn a spot.
