Parent/Swimmer Responsibility:
You must declare whether your swimmer will be attending each event. This is required even if you are not planning to attend.

Why is it important to declare for an event?
Several steps follow once all swimmers’ entries are received. These include invoicing, placing and approving swimmers for events, and submitting payments and entries to host teams, among other tasks. The sooner we receive confirmation from all swimmers, the sooner we can complete these steps to ensure that our swimmers secure their spots at the meets we intend to attend. Additionally, declaring that a swimmer will not attend helps avoid any missed opportunities for participation.

How to Declare:

  1. Log in to TeamUnify via the team webpage (www.auburnstingrays.org) or the OnDeck app.
  2. Find the "Team Events" section and select the event you are declaring for.
  3. Select “Attend/Decline” (online) or “Declare” (OnDeck). If you’ve already declared, it may say “Edit Commitment.”
  4. Select the swimmer you wish to declare.
  5. Choose “Yes” if the swimmer will attend, or “No” if they will not.
  6. Save your changes.
  7. Repeat this process for each swimmer.

Event Selection Insight:

  1. For some meets, you will see event options after declaring "Yes" to attend.
  2. You can select events to influence what the coach approves, but ultimately, it’s the coach’s decision.
  3. For dual meets, coaches typically disregard selected events, so completing this part isn't necessary.
  4. For invitationals and year-end meets, it is worthwhile to select event preferences, especially for older swimmers.
    1. Swimmers can also communicate their event preferences verbally with coaches to ensure both parties understand each other's viewpoints. Note: practice sessions with the entire team are not an appropriate time for this discussion. Instead, seek out the coaches at the start or end of practice if they have time.
  5. Coaches will provide additional instructions for specific meets if they require specific input on event selections.
