Registration Information

Mercury Swimming trains year-round

Sessions are as follows:

 

Short Course Session (SC): September-April

Long Course Session (LC): May-August

 
 

Membership Levels

Developmental Group

  • Emphasis on stroke development and endurance
  • Practice on a regular basis: Monday, Wednesday and Friday for 1 hour per night (Families can choose which practice days the swimmer participates in.
  • Swimmers are encouraged to participate in swim meets.
  • Meet fees charged by the host club are not included in the session fees.
  • It will be the coach's discretion when the athlete is advanced past the Developmental group and will be promoted to the Mercury Prep group.  Promotion is based on stroke abilities, conditioning, and skill level.
  • Any swimmer competing at the varsity level is NOT eligible for participation at the Developmental level; they may sign up for Mercury Prep or Mercury Elite.
  • USA Swimming registration required
  • Parent volunteer time required

Prep Level

  • Emphasis on stroke development and competitive swim skills
  • Strongly encouraged to practice on a regular basis, a maximum of 6 practices/week for 1 hour 30 minutes per practice Monday–Saturday  (Families can choose which practice days the swimmer participates in.
  • Swimmers are encouraged to participate in as many swim meets as possible.
  • Meet fees charged by the host club are not included in the session fees.
  • It will be the coach's discretion when the athlete is advanced past the Mercury Prep group and will be promoted to the Mercury Elite group
  • USA Swimming registration required
  • Parent volunteer time required

Elite Level

  • Emphasis on stroke refinement, competitive swim skills, and conditioning/endurance
  • Strongly encouraged to practice on a regular basis, a minimum of 4 practices/week and a maximum of 6 practices/week for 2 hours per practice Monday–Saturday (Families can choose which practice days the swimmer participates in.)
  • Swimmers are encouraged to participate in swim meets.
  • Meet fees charged by the host club are not included in the session fees.
  • USA Swimming registration required
  • Parent volunteer time required

  Collegiate Level

  • Any collegiate athlete currently on the swim team roster at an accredited college or university may train with Mercury Swimming during college pre-season / post-season breaks and Saturday practices with the following stipulations: 
    • They must be registered with USA Swimming with Mercury Swimming.
    • They may compete with Mercury Swimming either as a Mercury Swimming Club member outside their collegiate season or unattached during their NCAA Season.
  • Collegiate athletes who wish to swim from May-August pay Mercury Elite session fee.
