Exciting News!
A busy month for TWST… On the 10th & 11th we hosted 2x Olympian, Cullen Jones at OPHS to share his swimming experiences with our swimmers, coaches and parents. We are grateful to all those who raised the funds last May during our Swim-A-Thon to make this event possible. An incredible learning opportunity for all!
October 24th-26th, TWST sent 88 swimmers to compete at the Halloween Meet in Tonawanda. This 3-day swim meet was the first opportunity for 22 of our swimmers to compete at a USA Swimming event. Buddies cheered for one another and got to know a new member of the team. This first meet is a learning experience for our younger swimmers, and chance for our older athletes to shake off the rust as they get to race again. 77% Best Times were posted!
On October 30th, our groups had some Halloween Fun during practices with Witches Brew and Gourd Relays. We hope the kids enjoyed it.
On November 1st, 74 of our athletes competed in the Kiwanis Meet in East Aurora. 70% of our swims were Best Times. This meet is always perfect for our new swimmers to learn in a less overwhelming environment. It gave our coaches a chance to see areas we need to focus on in the coming months.
Congratulations to our Varsity ladies who have been competing for there area high schools. Their last sectional meet is this Thursday, and we look forward to their return to practice. Best of luck to those hoping to qualify for the NY State Meet at the end of November.
Our Turkey Splash Team Challenge Meet is just around the corner. Register your athlete to swim by today and our Job Sign Ups will be posted soon. An email will go out when the Job Sign Ups are open. Please check out the attached flyer for our Alumni Event that raises funds for our Jeanne Biggane Scholarship each year. All are welcome to attend.
Be sure to keep those qualifying meets on your radar by checking the Meets/Events on our website. Plan ahead for the meets you will be attending. Qualifying times are found under each meet as the meet information becomes available. When registering for a meet, times in BLACK are qualifying times, times in RED are not qualifying times.
The Apparel Order is finally in! Allison Wangelin will be working on getting your orders to practice over the next 2 weeks.
All meet results can be found on our website under the Meets/Events Tab, 2025/2026 Meet Results. The IMX Report is found under the Swimmers Tab, 2025-2026 IMX drop down. Athletes completing their IMX will be receiving bag tags for the 2025-26 Season.
Our coaches will be recognizing our Swimmers of the Month and Swimmers of the Meet during practices with bag tags. These athletes are also recognized on the website under the Swimmers Tab. Keep up the good work!
Please check the calendar for practice changes this month due to school holidays and Boys’ Varsity and Modified swim meets beginning in December.
