VOLUNTEERING AT SWIM MEETS
Swim meets rely heavily on parent participation! While coaches manage swimmers, and BeSmartt manages electronics, all other jobs are held by parent volunteers, which means that without your help, meets cannot run.
We ask that parents with a swimmer entered in a meet must be available for one volunteer session over the weekend, unless otherwise instructed; championship meets may require volunteering for more sessions
We will do our best to be as equitable as possible with our volunteer assignments, and will help families if they need coverage. However, failure to adhere to volunteer requirements will result in financial penalty.
JOBS
Most parents will be assigned to time for swimmers. Timers serve as a backup to the touchpad system in case of swimmer or computer error.
Parents may also be assigned to marshall, which may involve organizing swimmers behind the block, and ensuring that only coaches and swimmers enter the pool deck.
Hospitality monitors help with food and water distribution for coaches.
BECOME A USA SWIMMING OFFICIAL
Scarlet Aquatic Club encourages parents to support the sport of swimming by becoming meet officials. Various training sessions are offered by USA/New Jersey Swimming during the year. Central New Jersey has a strong need for additional officials; no swimming experience is required! Officiating is a fun way to support swimming and also allows you to be on deck where all the action takes place. Parents with questions about officiating should contact Head Coach Mike.
