Frenzy at Felix Festa
Our swimmers joined competitors from 8 other teams this past weekend at the NY Sharks Winter Frenzy at the Felix Festa Middle School in West Nyack, NY. The three day event showcased our swimmers' hard work and accomplishments with top places, personal bests, new team records, and more.
The Barracudas proved to be the top predators in the water with First Places by Rylee Bambara (200 Free); Reese Berg (100 Fly, 100 Free, 200 Breast, 50 Breast, 50 Free); Zach Bezold (200 Breast); Ty Hollar (50 Back); Jonathan Kern (100 Free, 100 IM, 50 Free); Nathaniel Kern (100 Back, 200 Back, 200 Fly, 200 Free, 200 IM, 50 Free); and Hannah Wilson (100 Free, 50 Free). By meets’ end, 31 Top-3 finishes were earned by our athletes.
Reeling from the disappointment of a canceled meet earlier in the month, our swimmers were hungry to compete. Of our 107 splashes, 71 were Personal Best Times (including 8 first-ever swims, that’s close to 75% of our swims). Some of these were incredible drops, including swims by Rylee Bambara (-13.73 in the 200 Free, -21.72 in the 500 Free); Reese Berg (-18.26 in the 200 Breast, -11.44 in the 500 Free); Ty Hollar (-34.00 in the 500 Free); Nathaniel Kern (-16.37 in the 200 Back, -15.65 in the 200 Fly); Erin Magnotta (-28.54 in the 500 Free); Teddy Mills (-13.55 in the 200 IM); and Will Tagliareni (-15.39 in the 100 Fly) just to name a few.
For their efforts, 14 new NJB Records were set by Jonathan Kern (100 Free, 200 Free, 50 Back, 100 Back, 100 IM, 200 IM); Reese Berg (50 Breast, 200 IM); and Nathaniel Kern (200 Free, 100 Back, 200 Back 50 Breast, 200 Fly, 200 IM).
Congrats to all of our swimmers and coaches for all their successes, and keep up the good work!
