Great Showing at 13&O JO's
It was a fast weekend of swimming at the New Jersey Swimming 13&Over JO’s at Berkeley Aquatic Center in New Providence. Hundreds of swimmers from 16 teams qualified for and competed at this Prelims/Finals event. Our eight qualifiers had a great showing earning top places, best times, new team records, and more. For their efforts, NJB finished with a combined 8th Place.
Zach Bezold qualified in 5 events, and came back to swim Finals in the 100 Breast (8th Place and a new team record), 100 Free, (14th Place) and 200 IM (10th Place). Of his 8 splashes, 6 were Personal Bests. He Moves on to Sectionals.
Sadie Cornelius made the cut in her 50 Free, having a great swim and finishing just shy of her career-best.
Matt Freund had a great weekend being a top-finisher in Prelims, swimming Speedo Sectionals times in his 100 and 200 Fly, and a Futures Championships time in his 200 Fly. He moves on to Sectionals and Futures.
Erin Magnotta made it back to Finals in 3 of her 5 events including 100 Back (14th Place), 100 Fly (15th Place), and the 200 Back (13th Place); 5 of her 8 swims were Personal Bests.
Will Tagliareni finished his career with a busy but successful weekend, coming back for 3 of his 6 events in the 200 Free (14th Place), 200 IM (12th Place), and 500 Free (8th Place). All of his swims in Finals were personal-bests.
Evan Weinberger qualified for the 200 Breast and faced down the competition with a great swim.
Jillian Weinberger had a fantastic showing in her 100 Free, 400 IM, 50 Free, 100 Back, and 200 Back, swimming Personal Best Times in the latter two.
Hannah Wilson had a busy weekend with 12 splashes, 7 of which were Personal Bests, including trips to finals in her 100 Back (4th Place), 100 Free (4th Place), 200 Free (2nd Place), and 50 Free (4th Place), including First Place finishes in her 1000 Free, 1650 Free, and 200 Back! She set 5 new team records in the 50 Free, 100 Free, 1000 Free, 100 Back, and 200 Back. She moves on to Sectionals and Zones.
