Top Places Earned at Zones!

Congratulations to Reese Berg, Nathaniel Kern, and Hannah Wilson on their amazing performances at the 2022 Eastern Zones Age-Group Championships (“Zones”) in Webster/Rochester, NY over the weekend. Attended by hundreds of some of the top swimmers in the Northeast, our team placed a combined 23^rd of the 159 teams in attendance (with only three swimmers!). They represented themselves, our club, and our LSC well, making Finals in every event they swam, earning top places, personal best times, and some new team records in the process.

Reese Berg had stellar swims throughout the weekend. She finished 8th Place in the 50 Breast with 33.97 (-0.28)*; 17th Place in the 100 Free with a 58.27 (-0.43); 4th Place in the 200 Breast with a 2:34.02 (-1.62)*; and 6^th Place in the 100 Breast with a 1:11.17 (-0.92)*. She earned 55 individual points over the 4-day event, finishing 23^rd in her age group!

Our lone attending 11-12 boy, Nathaniel Kern proved to be one of the top swimmers at the meet. He swam to a 6th Place finish in the 200IM with a 2:13.52 (-2.83)*; a 5th Place in the 200 Free with a 1:56.89 (-0.90)*; a 2^nd Place in the 100 Fly with a :57.13 (-0.66)*; 2nd Place in the 50 Fly with a 26.19 (-0.23)*; another 2nd Place, just 0.2 out of 1^st, in his 200 Fly with a 2:10.61 (-4.65); and a big 1st Place in his 100 Free with a time of 52.98 (-1.84)*. At the end of the meet he was announced as the 3^rd place high point earner with 122 points!

Hannah Wilson, finishing off a grueling trifecta of swimming at JOs, Speedo Sectionals, and then this meet (11 days competing in 16 days), did not hold back. She started off the weekend with an amazing 1^st Place finish in the 1650 with a time of 17:39.03 (-25 secs)*; a 4^th Place in her 200 Free for a 1:56.35 (-2.35)*; 3rd Place in her 500 Free with 5:09.38 (-6.51)*; a 2^nd Place in her 200 Back with a 2:08.61; and a 11^th Place finish in her 100 Free for a 53.89 (-1.06)*. She was also acknowledged at the end of the meet for her 3^rd Place for points-earned (95 Points) when they called out the high-point earners for the meet.
