Hawks Trials & Finals a Big Success!
Our ‘Cudas hit the road again, this time to Montgomery NY, to compete at the 2023 Hawks Trials & Finals at Valley Central High School. Hundreds of swimmers from four different LSC’s including NJ Swimming, Metro Swimming, Adirondack Swimming, and Connecticut Swimming took to the blocks for an exciting and competitive weekend of swimming. Our 29 attending athletes swam personal bests, top places, a few team records, and more. Out of the 16 teams, our girls finished 10th and our boys finished 4th!
Our crew had the announcer calling out “North Jersey…” regularly, with a ton of top places including 23 top-3 finishes. Of those, eight were Firsts by Ty Hollar (100 Free, 100 IM, 200 Free, 50 Free); Jonathan Kern (100 Back, 100 Fly); and Hannah Wilson (200 Back, 200 Free).
Diving in for a hefty 167 splashes throughout the weekend, our swimmers swam to 83 Personal Bests, with an additional 10 being first-ever swims! Many were big accomplishments, like Molly Bellflowers’ 50 Fly (-11.72), Brooklynn Davis’ 50 Fly (-9.89), Ty Hollar’s 200 Free (-9.84), Marcus Innamorato’s 100 Fly (-24.34), Enzo Lombardo’s 200 Breast (-10.56) and 200 IM (-12.12), Jamason Trout’s 100 Back (-14.47), and many more!
Congratulations to our NJB Record setters Jonathan Kern (100 Back), Ty Hollar (100 IM), and Nathaniel Kern (200 Back, 200 IM).
