Swimmers ‘In The Zone’ at Age-Group Championships

Congrats to swimmers Reese Berg, Ty Hollar, Jonathan Kern, and Nathaniel Kern for qualifying for the Eastern Zones Age Group Championships. The crew traveled to the Webster Aquatic Center in Webster, NY (near Lake Ontario) to compete against some of the fastest swimmers in the Northeast. They had a bunch of exciting swims over the four day meet and had a blast!

The effort and competitiveness exhibited by them yielded 21 Personal Best Times (of their total of 30 splashes), with some great swims like Ty’s 200 Back (-5.62) and 200 Free (-2.30); Jonathan’s 200 Back (-2.28) and 200 Free (-4.45); and Nathaniel’s 200 Fly (-3.28); just to name a few.

Both Jonathan and Nathaniel made finals in 6 and 5 of their events respectively, which included top finishes like Jonathan’s 50 Fly (13th), 100 IM (8th)*, 100 Back (7th), 100 Fly (7th), 200 Free (5th), 200 Back (3rd)*; and Nathaniel’s 50 Free (16th), 200 IM (14th)*, 200 Free (7th)*, 100 Fly (3rd)*, and 200 Fly (3rd)*. Individually, Jonathan finished 15th of the 87 11-12 boys, and Nathaniel finished 12th of the 99 13-14 boys! The points earned helped NJB place 39th of the 139 scoring teams!
