NJ Swimming Gold Championships

We had five swimmers qualify for and attend this season’s 13 & Over NJ Swimming Gold Championships at Rutgers this past weekend. They joined other elite swimmers from around our LSC in our state's biggest championship meet. Congrats to Rylee Bambara, Reese Berg, Ty Hollar, Jonathan Kern, and Nathaniel Kern on their outstanding swims.

It was a grueling four-days of prelims and finals for this crew, but they accomplished much. An incredible 19 of our 35 splashes were Personal Bests, with Jonathan leading the charge with his 1000 Free (-17.05), 200 Back (-5.16), and 200 Fly (-5.73), just to name a few!

We were well-represented in Finals each night with some top places by Reese (5th in the 100 Breast, 7th in the 200 IM); Ty (7th in the 100 and 200 Free); Jonathan (7th in the 200 Fly); and Nathaniel (5th in the 50 Free, 2nd in the 200 Free, and 1st PLACE in the 200 Fly!). 

A total of 10 new Zones cuts were earned, and new club records were set by Reese (100 Breast) and Ty (200 Back), as well.

What a great finish to our LSC Championships. Now onto the National stage- good luck to Hannah Wilson and Nathaniel Kern at Speedo Sectionals (Brown University, Rhode Island) and Reese Berg, Ty Hollar, and Jonathan Kern at Eastern Zones Age-Group Championships (Webster, NY)!
