Swimmers Rise To The Challenge At Big CAT Meet
Some amazing swims were swum at the Big CAT LC Challenge at Rutgers University last weekend. Our 12 attending swimmers joined others from 15 other teams, a few from the Mid Atlantic LSC, earning top places, personal bests, and more. A fun time was had by all!
Despite our small numbers, our athletes made quite a showing with 40% of our finishes placing in the Top 8 including Ty Hollar (2nd in the 200 Back, 50 Back) and Jonathan Kern (2nd in the 100 Back and 400 IM, 3rd in the 100 Fly and 100 Free). A special congrats to our first-place earners Jonathan Kern (200 Fly, 200 Free) and Nathaniel Kern (100 Fly, 100 Free, 400 IM, 50 Free)!
As if that wasn’t exciting enough, 37 of our 44 splashes were either first time swims or Personal Bests! A few highlights were Jonathan Kern’s 200 Fly (-9.37); Nathaniel Kern’s 400 IM (-9.00); Carter Muller’s 50 Breast (-9.49); Channing Muller’s 50 Breast (-13.39); Briella Selby’s 100 Breast (-13.32) and 100 Free (-8.57); and Sam Taylor’s 50 Back (-7.65) and amazing 200 Free (-48.72)! Wow!
Good luck to our qualifiers at the Eastern Zones Open Water Championships next weekend!
