Holiday Classic XXXVII

Eastern Express’s  Holiday Classic XXXVII is known as the premier mid-season meet in New Jersey. Held at Rutgers University, hundreds of qualifying swimmers from 24 different teams went head-to-head over the three day meet last weekend. Just qualifying for this meet (and getting in) is notable!

We had one swimmer competing in the Prelims/Finals portion of the meet, and two more in the Timed Finals portion. 

Our Timed Finals swimmers had a great weekend. Reese Berg competed in 11 events, earning First Places in three (100 Breast, 200 Breast, 400 IM); and swam Personal Bests in her 200 Free (-0.09), 400 IM (-4.76), 50 Breast (-0.35), and 50 Fly (-1.39)! Rylee Bambara also had a great showing with almost 15 seconds of cumulative drops in her 200 Back (-8.01) and 200 IM (-6.81)!

Ty Hollar was our lone qualifying swimmer in Prelims/Finals, which was also the scoring part of the meet. He made finals in seven of his eight events, swam Personal Bests in his 100 Breast (-1.44) and 200 Back (-0.26), and put NJB on the scoreboard with the 29 points he earned!

All tolled Rylee (100 Free, 200 Back), Reese (100 Breast, 200 Breast, 200 IM, 400 IM), and Ty (100 Back, 100 Breast, 100 Free, 200 Back, 200 Free, 50 Free, 500 Free, 1650 Free) collectively swam 14 Gold Times in their current age groups!
