Splashing into the New Year!

Our swimmers brushed off the cobwebs from the holiday season and dove back into competition at the NJRC New Year's Splash this weekend at the Jersey Aquatic Center in New Providence.

One of the big stories at this meet was how many swimmers stepped out of their comfort zone and swam events for the first time; about 20% of our swims were maiden voyages! These yielded some great times and new confidence like swims from Nataasha Bhagaloo (500 Free); Josh Bigora (200 Free); Mia Czinkota (500 Free); Brooklynn Davis (200 Back, 200 Breast, 200 IM); Chris Jaromski (200 Fly); Alex Johnson (200 Free); Kaylee Moss (200 IM); Carter Muller (200 Fly); Channing Muller (500 Free, 200 IM); Autumn Wintermute (500 Free); and so many more!

Of the remaining 98 splashes, 50 were Personal Bests with some blockbuster efforts like Abby Czinkota’s 500 Free (-22.12); Brooklynn Davis’ 200 Free (-11.19); Alex Johnson’s 100 Fly (-24.74); Kaylee Moss’ 200 Free (-18.45); Carter Muller’s 200 IM (-14.39); and Briella Selby’s 100 IM (-13.09); just to name a few!

A special shout-out to Ty Hollar who, not only swam 13-14 Gold times in all of his events,  swam away with three First Places (100 Breast, 200 Back, 200 Breast) and a new Club Record in the 200 Breast!
