Big Drops at 13&Over Bronze Championships
Our 13-14 Boys Medley Relay (C. Muller, Bigora, Wintermute, Jaromski) hit the water at the start of the meet, pulled ahead of the pack, and came in just a second behind the Greater Morristown Y for an exciting second place! They set the tone for what would be the trend for the weekend. Our 11 swimmers earned top places, a slew of Personal Bests, and some new Silver cuts.
There was a lot to celebrate about this meet, especially our rate of improvement. Every one of our swimmers came away with Personal Bests; of our 46 splashes, 37 of them were new marks. That’s about 80% of our swims! While all were impressive efforts, some of these were significant drops like Rylee Bambara’s 200 Breast (-7.11); Abby Czinkota’s 200 Breast (-5.73) and 200 Free (-7.88), Alex Johnson’s 200 Breast (-7.26), Carter Muller’s 200 Free (-5.86) and 500 Free (-9.79), Channing Muller’s 200 IM (-9.54) and 500 Free (-16.75), and John Wintermute’s 100 Free (-7.19), just to name a few! Swims like these resulted in 16 new Silver cuts!
For their efforts, our swimmers kicked in 12 Top-3 finishes, including First Places by Rylee Bambara (100 Fly, 200 Breast); Abby Czinkota (100 Free): Alex Johnson (100 Breast); and Channing Muller who took no prisoners winning the 100 Free, 200 Free, 50 Free, 500 Free!
Great job by all! For those wrapping up their short course season, congrats on a great season. For those moving on to Silver Championships, good luck!
