Flying with the Condors!
Our swimmers traveled outside of our LSC this past weekend to swim at the Condors Summer Solstice in West Nyack, NY. We joined 13 other teams, mostly from Metro Swimming, for a fun three day weekend of swimming.
Despite facing some stiff competition, our swimmers had a good weekend. Of our 42 Splashes, 9 were first-time LC swims, while another 15 were Personal LC bests! That’s new marks in more than half of our swims! Some standout performances by Briella Selby (-3.65 in her 100 Free); Autumn Wintermute (-4.30 in her 100 Fly, -4.76 in her 200 IM); and John Wintermute (-2.13 in his 100 Fly, -6.38 in his 200 Fly, -4.46 in his 200 IM) highlighted some of our accomplishments.
Despite that competition, we had a few swimmers finish in the Top 8 of their events like Carter Bambara (8th in the 200 Breast); Rylee Bambara (5th in the 200 Free); Ty Hollar (5th in the 100 Back, 6th in the 400 IM, 7th in the 800 Free); Channing Muller (5th in the 100 Free, 6th in the 200 Free, 7th in the 50 Free); and John Wintermute (5th in the 200 Fly).
Great job by all! Next up we venture outside of the LSC again, this time to Mid-Atlantic, for the PAAC Firecracker Meet in Allentown, PA. This should be a fun outdoor meet- bring your NJB bucket hats!
