Swimmers' Soar at HAWKS Trials & Finals

Mother Nature made an appearance at the HAWKS Trials & Finals meet at Valley Central High School School this past weekend, and while it upended the format of the meet, most swimmers from the 14 attending teams were able to hit the water for some fun races and fast times. Our 16 swimmers earned top places, personal bests, and a bunch of championship cuts before the snow moved in.

Our swimmers splashed in 15 Top 8 finishes, with First Places by Reese Berg (400 IM, 200 Breast) and Ty Hollar (400 IM). Adding to that, over 56% of our swims were Personal Bests, with some amazing marks like Ana Apostolou’s 100 IM (-3.59); Nataasha Bhagaloo’s 200 Free (-13.22); Sixto Bonilla Priebe’s 100 IM (-13.44); Ty Hollar’s 400 IM (-15.14); Sabrina Motyka’s 200 Free (-4.78); Channing Muller’s 200 Free (-3.53); Sam Taylor’s 100 IM (-6.06) and 200 Free (-3.61); and an amazing 500 Free by Autumn Wintermute (-28.46); just to name a few.

Those times yielded 8 NJ Swimming Silver cuts, along with 7 Gold times by Reese Berg (400 IM, 200 Breast); Ty Hollar (200 Back, 50 Free); and while he unfortunately ages up, Channing Muller with a hat-trick (100 Fly, 200 Free, 50 Free)!
