Swimmers Hunt Down Top Times

George Soutter

Our swimmers traveled outside of our LSC, this time to Nazareth Pennsylvania, joining 12 Middle Atlantic teams for this season’s 3-day BLUE Duck Hunt’n Derby. They returned with quite a take of top places, personal bests, and a plumage of NJ Swimming cuts!

With a whopping 31 NJB swimmers in the hunt, Ana Apostolou, Rylee Bambara, Reese Berg, Nataasha Bhagaloo, Josh Bigora, Abby Czinkota, Olivia Czinkota, Julia Dutzi, Ty Hollar, Alex Johnson, Adam Marton, Daniel Marton, Channing Muller, Briella Selby, Sam Taylor, Autumn Wintermute, John Wintermute, and Jack Zaimis brought down 54 First Places!

Our crew hit the water with 150 splashes, and swam away with an amazing 88 Personal Bests (over 58% of our swims)! Some were really worth quacking about (sorry) like Gianna Battaglia’s 100 Back (-15.24) and 50 Breast (-10.84); Bridgit Campbell’s 200 Breast (-12.52) and 200 IM (-11.13); Daniel Marton’s 200 Free (-27.45); Abby Czinkota’s 500 Free (-10.64); Jake Pando’s 100 Free (-10.23); Briella Selby’s 500 Free (-12.44); Autumn Wintermute’s 200 Free (-10.25) and 200 IM (-14.31); and John Wintermute’s 400 IM (-11.44); just to name a few!

These new marks earned 35 NJ Swimming Championship Silver cuts and 8 Gold cuts, including new Gold times by Reese Berg (200 Breast) and Ty Hollar (100 Back, 100 Breast, 200 Back, 200 IM).

Great job swimmers, and good luck at our upcoming championship meets!
