Ridgewood Breakers Swim Team Parent Code of Conduct Policy
Policy Purpose To set expectations for parent behavior that supports a positive team culture and protects the emotional and physical safety of all swimmers, coaches, and families.
Expected Conduct Parents are expected to:

Communicate respectfully with coaches and staff

Follow established channels for raising concerns

Refrain from disrupting practices, meets, or coaching sessions

Speak positively about all swimmers, coaches, and the team

Model sportsmanship and respect for all officials and volunteers
Unacceptable Conduct The following behaviors will not be tolerated:

Yelling, threats, or verbal harassment

Hostile or intimidating behavior
-
Public criticism of staff or athletes
-
Disrupting team activities or refusing redirection

Using offensive or inappropriate language
Consequences for Violations

Verbal Warning from staff with redirection to proper channels.

Written Notice following repeated or serious incidents.

Formal Meeting with team leadership.

Behavior Contract or Suspension from team events.

Removal from the team environment if behavior endangers others or continues despite interventions.
Immediate Action In cases where behavior presents an immediate threat to safety:

The parent may be asked to leave the premises immediately.

Law enforcement may be contacted if necessary.
-
The swimmer may continue participation under alternate guardianship.
