Two NEW Y National Qualifiers at NJJOs!
The Devilfish Swim Team competed at the New Jersey/USA Swimming Junior Olympics held at Rutgers University, March 16-18. There were many outstanding swims and time drops at this very competitive meet. Two swimmers qualified for Y Nationals, Luke McGrory (100 Back) and Brooke Sweeney (200 Back). Top 13&Over finishers include: Caroline Basil, 3rdplace (13-14 200 Back); Kevin Clauss, 7thplace (13-14 100 & 200 Breast); and Sweeney, 12thplace (15-19 200 Back). Caitlin Carroll (15-19 400IM & 200 Fly), Stefan Crigler (13-14 200 Breast), Gwyn Devin (13-14 200 fly), Nicandro Donadio (15-19 100 Breast), Allie McBrearty (15-19 100 Back), and Matt Trinkle (100 Fly) swam personal best times.
Top swims for the 12&Unders include: Thomas Brennan, 12thplace (10&U 100 Breast) and 13thplace (10&U 50 Breast); Alex Prystupa, 19th place (11-12 50 Breast); and Mackenzie Smith, 21stplace (11-12 50 Breast). Best times were achieved by Colin Daniel (11-12 400IM & 200 Breast), Julia McGann (10&U 100 Fly & 100 Back) Prystupa (11-12 100 IM), Kyle Picut (11-12 200 Breast), Sebastian Tretter (10&U 50 & 100 Breast) and Nick Youssef (11-12 200 & 500 Free, 50 Fly).
Great effort from all swimmers who qualified to compete at NJJOs! 12&Us: Matthew Barmakian, Eric Bebel, Ryan Bebel, Aidan Donohue, Muriel Maloney, Devyn Tibbals, Steven Warren, and Zach Youssef. 13&Os: Meredith Bagger, Loren Ball, Will Beckett, Aidan Donadio, Lucas Fan, Audrey Picut, Kevin Oster and Becky Zhang.
