Devilfish Meet the Challenge at FALL FEST

The Westfield Area Y Devilfish Swim Team was up to the challenge at the X-Cel Fall Festival of X-cellence Invitational Swim Meet held at Princeton University, October 26-28. This early season invitational is always a well- attended, competitive meet.  The following Devilfish swimmers placed in the top sixteen for individual performances in their age group: 10&U Girls: Julia McGann, 6^thplace (100 Fly), 7^th(200 free and 50 back), 8^th(50 free and 100 free). 11-12 Girls: Aidan Donohue, 10^thplace(200 breast) and 12^th(100 breast).11-12 Boys: Eric Bebel, 15^thplace-tie (50 Free); Ryan Bebel, 5^thplace (200 breast),9^th(100 breast), 13^th(200 fly), 16^th(500 free);  Colin Daniel, 7^thplace (200 fly), 9^th(400IM),10^th(200 free), 14^th(100 fly); Rory McGovern, 16^thplace(100 back); Steven Warren, 6^thplace (200 breast), 8^th(100 breast). 13-14 Girls: Caroline Basil, 5^thplace (400IM), 11^th(200 IM), 11^th(100 breast), 15th (200 breast); Marina Decotiis, 16^thplace (200 fly); Emily McGann, 13^thplace (100 back). 13-14 Boys: Ryan Daniel, 8^thplace(50 free), 13^th(500 free), 14^th(100 breast); Jesse Liu 12^thplace (200 back); Lucas Fan, 14^thplace (200 back); Nick Youssef, 13^thplace (200 fly).  15-19 Girls:  Caroline Baldwin, 1^stplace (50free),2^nd(100 Back), 4^th(200 back) and 12^th(200IM); Caitlin Carroll, 6^thplace(400IM) and 8^th(200 Fly); Erika Daniel, 9^thplace (100 fly), 11^th(200IM), 14^th(200 Fly); Courtney Day, 12^thplace (100 free), 14^th(50 free), 15^th(100 back); Carly Whitmer, 14^thplace (200 back). 15-19 Boys: Matt Daniel, 3^rdplace (400IM), 5^th(100 free), 10th (100 fly), 11^th(500 free), 12^th(200 fly); Stephen Husch, 6^thplace (100 breast), 7^th(400IM), 9^th(100 fly).  Luke McGrory, 13th place (50 free and 200 back), 14^th(200 back). Six Devilfish relay teams broke the Top 8: In 6^th place (10&U Girls 200 Medley) Bridget Thomas, Connie Liu, Natalie Lee, and J.McGann; 7th place (11-12 Boys Medley) McGovern, Warren, R. Bebel, E. Bebel; 8^th place (13-14 Girls 200 Medley) Basil, Jamie Thomas, Emily Oster, E. McGann; 4^th place(15-19 Girls 200 Medley) Baldwin, Kathleen Bond, E. Daniel, Day; 2^nd place (15-19 Boys 200 Free) Husch, McGrory, Max Shin, M. Daniel and 5^th place (15-19 Boys 200 Medley) McGrory, Aidan Donadio, M. Daniel, Shin.  .
