WY DEVILFISH HEAT UP WINTERFEST

AIDAN DONAHUE AND MURIEL MALONEY JOIN TEAM RECOR D BOARD

The Westfield Area Y Devilfish Swim Team entered a team of sixty-six qualifying swimmers to compete at the TYR Winterfest Invitational held at the Sonny Werblin Pool, Rutgers University, January 5-6. Seventy-five percent of those entered swam at least one personal best time. Congratulations to Aidan Donahue and Muriel Maloney who broke their first Devilfish team records! Donahue reset the standard for 11-12 Girls 50yd Breast with a time of 33.85. Maloney, who had significant time drops in every event she swam, joined the record board for 11-12 Girls 100yd Individual Medley (IM) at a time of 1.06.55. Other outstanding performances and breakout swims include the following TOP 16 finishes:

10&U Girls: Tess Deyerle, 10^thplace (50 Fly); Julia McGann, 4^th(100 Back & 100 Fly), 5^th(50 Back), 9^th(50 Fly), 11^th(200 Free); Bridget Thomas, 13^th(100 Back), 14^th(100 Fly & 50 Back.)
