Coaches and Directors
Greg Davis is COPS’ new head coach, coming from Mobile, Alabama. He brings a history of success, hard work, and years of experience. Greg has spent his entire life at the pool, starting at a young age when both his parents were swim coaches. He has held numerous coaching positions including being a staff member of the USA National Junior Team Camp, USA National Select Camp, and the USA Zone Select Camp. Greg has twice been awarded the ASCA Award of Excellence in Coaching and has coached numerous athletes qualifying for the Olympics & Olympic Trials. Greg is committed to achieving team goals along with athlete goals. We are excited to have Greg join COPS.
Madi began her swimming career with COPS at age 5. She swam on two national record-setting relays at Cherry Creek High School and Westlake High School and continued through two years Division I in college. She has over 15 years of competitive swimming and has been coaching USA Swimming for several years. She returned to COPS as an assistant coach in 2017 and has recently been named COPS Head Age Group Coach.
Michael is from The Woodlands, Texas, where he grew up swimming on The Woodlands Swim Team. Michael won several TAGS Championships with TWST and a State Championship with his high school team. He swam at The University of Hawaii and graduated with a degree in psychology. Michael has since worked with several notable swim clubs and university teams, bringing over a decade of coaching experience to COPS.
Michael loves coaching and swimming because of the positive impact it makes on young people's lives.
Karen began swimming at the age of 3 and has never stopped! After graduating from high school, and swimming for her high school team, Karen earned her BS in Business from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and her MBA from Lake Forrest Graduate School of Business. In 2010, Karen left the corporate world and began working as an USA Swimming coach. She joined COPS in 2012 and played an instrumental role in developing our pre-competitive program. She has been the manager of our Fundamentals 1 program since 2016.
Dean began his swimming career in New York at the age of 7. After moving to Texas, he joined COPS and swam with us until 2011. He was an instructor for a swim school and rejoined COPS in 2018 as an assistant coach. He became a full-time Senior Division coach in 2021.
Rosie brings experience from her competitive swimming days, along with a background in various other sports. With several years of experience teaching swim lessons of all different levels, Rosie emphasizes the importance of technique in her training, believing that mastering the fundamentals is key to enhancing a swimmer’s overall performance.
Jesse is returning to COPS after a sucessful 36 year coaching career. He started his coaching career in the 90's at Plano West High School while also being an assistant coach for COPS. During Jesse's career, he has coached swimmers from beginners to advanced level athletes. His resume includes 11 UIL State Team Championships along with numerous high school All Americans. He has been recognized with the NISCA Outstanding Service Award.
Matt has a diverse swimming background, having competed in Colorado
and Minnesota before spending five years swimming in San Antonio,
Texas, where he trained with Streamline Aquatics. He furthered his
athletic and academic career at the University of
Tennessee-Southern, where he was also the team captain, earning a
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 2020 while swimming
competitively for all four years. Currently, Matt is pursuing a
Master's degree in Business Administration.
With 4.5 years of experience teaching swim lessons, Matt has
successfully worked with swimmers of all ages and skill levels. He
has the ability to adapt his coaching techniques to meet the unique
needs of each swimmer and understands the goal setting,
perseverance, and tenacity a swimmer needs to succeed.
Hank has been around swimming pools all his life as a swimmer, instructor, and coach. He has been with COPS since the inception of our pre-competitive (now Swim Academy) program. Hank splits his duties between the Swim Academy and as a coach for the 11 & younger group.
