Gold Galore at the 2019 US Opens
Isabelle Lange and Ashley Latchford struck gold at the US Opens in Greensboro, North Carolina this past weekend. The girls competed in the Junior Technical Duet and Junior Free Duet events, earning the top score and the gold medal in both events.
Ashley and Isabelle also competed individually in the Junior Technical and Free Solo events. Ashley received the top score for her free solo, winning the gold medal, and she earned the silver medal in the technical solo event. Isabelle had strong swims in the solo events as well, earning 6th place in both competitions.
Isabelle and Ashley have been swimming duet together for two years and this was their last competition, as Isabelle will be attending the University of Arizona next fall, swimming on their synchro team. Coach Debbie Latchford is extremely proud of their accomplishments over the past two years they have swum together. “Last year, they placed 5th at both the US Junior Nationals and US Opens, which was fantastic. This year they won gold at the Opens and were invited to perform in the competition closing ceremonies and gala with the other top national and international finishers. What an honor for these two ladies, who have worked so hard! I couldn’t be prouder of them.”
