Head Coach

Mary Bartek

Mary Bartek is the head coach for Amherst Aquatic Club. She has been involved in swimming since the age of 8. She swam for the now defunct Carousel Swim Club, Oak Hills Swim Club, and Lorain YMCA. She was one of the pioneering members of the Magnificat High School Swim Team, and a 4 year varsity letter winner at Cleveland State University. GO VIKES! Coach Bartek started her coaching career at the age of 18 when she knew nothing. It has taken her 42 years to perfect her craft of knowing nothing. Her love of the sport and the smell of chlorine are enough to help her be a successful coach. In her free time, she travels and spends time with her kids and her dog, Frankie!
 

Assistant Coach 

Stevie Soboslay

Coach Stevie is an assistant coach. Coach Stevie is a 2019 graduate of Amherst Steele High School where he was a 4 year varsity letter winner in swimming and a District qualifier in the 500 free his senior year. He found his love of swimming on the Amherst Summer Swim Team in 2013 and has continued swimming competitively ever since. Coach Stevie is a graduate of Cleveland State University, where he majored in mathematics with a minor in statistics and economics. Coach Stevie looks forward to helping kids improve in the water while having fun.
