Volunteer Job Descriptions

The continued success of the Scioto Sharks Dive and Swim Team relies on the support of our volunteers. Our meets, both home and away, cannot run without you! 

Timers

During both home and away meets, our team needs to provide at least six volunteers to time events. Timers will work in pairs and will record times from stopwatches during the meets. Timers will need to stay for the duration of the meet. 

Pod Parents

During both home and away meets, swimmers will wait for their events in their age group pods. One volunteer per age group will help the swimmers check in and line up for their events when it is time to swim. Pod parents will need to stay until all of the swimmers in their pod have finished their events. 

Bullpen

During both home and away meets, our team needs two volunteers to help take swimmers from the pods and line them up by heat and lane for events. Bullpen volunteers will need to stay for the duration of the meets. 

Heat Winner Ribbons

During home meets, one parent volunteer will distribute the rainbow Heat Winner ribbons to the swimmer or relay members who win each individual heat. You will be required to stay for the duration of the meets. The heat winner ribbon distributor will need to watch each race and determine the winner.
