Janzen earns academic honor, makes verbal commitment

KMSC senior swimmer Kate Janzen made news this week with two major annoucements.

First, USA Swimming named Janzen to the 2019-2020 Scholastic All-America team. Janzen is one of 1,087 swimmers nationally and six swimmers in Oklahoma to earn this distinction. Swimmers must have a 3.5 GPA in high school and have at least one Junior National qualifying time to be eligible. (Read the full article here.)

Janzen, who will graduate next spring, also announced her verbal commitment to pursue swimming and academics at SMU. Janzen, who specializes in backstroke and butterfly, will join an SMU team steeped in swimming tradition.
