How to Become an Official 

As a parent of a swimmer you have the opportunity to be involved with your child and their sport in various ways. One very instrumental way is by being trained, certified, and working as an Official. Officials are present at all competitions to implement the technical rules of swimming and to ensure that the competition is fair and equitable to everyone. -Pacific Swimming

If you are intrested in becoming a registered Official with Pacific Swimming, please follow the steps below:

  1. Complete the Pacific Swimming Non-Athlete Registration here
  2. In your USA Swimming Account Portal, under EDUCATION, you will need to complete the following
    1.  a background check
    2.  Athlete Protection Training 
    3.  Concussion Training hereEmail Concussion Training certificate to [email protected]
    4. CANRA training
    5. Take Stroke and Turn or Admin Test 
  3. Complete on-deck sessions, shadowing a currently certified official. Contact your Zone 1S Co-Chairs: Jeanette Soe, [email protected], Mette Graversen, [email protected]
  4. Attend a Clinic
