Get Ready for the First Day of Practice!

Hello Thunderbird Families,

 

We are thrilled to announce that the first day of practice is tomorrow! We can't wait to see everyone and kick off the new season with enthusiasm and energy.

As we begin this exciting journey, we hope your swimmers school year starts on a path to success. Let's make this year one of growth, achievement, and fun both in and out of the pool.

 

First week of Practice Overview

  • Swimmers will review behavior expectations with the coaching staff.
  • We will cover what is expected before, during, and after practices to ensure a smooth and productive training environment.
  • We will rehearse gathering and returning practice equipment shaping individual responsibilities
  • Introduction to identifying stroke drills and their understanding and execution
  • Coaching staff will share coaching goals and expectations for the groups for the 2025-2026 season
  • Informative Parent Meeting hosted by Head Coach George Minkel and TAC Boosters
    • Slideshow format
    • 5:00pm – 6:00pm, Thursday September 4
    • Upstairs Fitness Center, Fidalgo Pool and Fitness Center

 

Team Culture:

  • To build and strengthen our Thunderbird Aquatic Club team culture, we will be using ice breakers on deck with the groups, sharing and learning about our new and old teammates and coaching staff
  • New swimmers will receive a TAC swim cap (black or pink) used at practices and competitions
  • Please ensure your swimmer has clothes to wear on deck for their warmth during our ice breakers, behavior, performance, goals, and expectation with teammates and coaching staff
