UPAC Financial Assistance Program

PROGRAM INFORMATION

University Place Aquatic Club (UPAC) has limited financial resources available for those needing assistance with the costs of swimming registration, monthly fees, and meet fees.  These standards are in line with Pacific Northwest Swimming (PNS) and USA Swimming standards for financial assistance.

UPAC Financial Aid covers:
  • A maximum of 75% of the monthly swimming fees
  • UPAC Registration fees and PNS/USA Swimming Registration Fees
  • Meet entry fees include only PNS Sanctioned Meets (all other meets are subject to board approval)
    • Full Outreach - all meet fees covered including surcharge and individual event fees.
    • Partial Outreach - individual event fees are covered, the meet surcharge (between $15-30) is not covered by UPAC.
  • UPAC swim cap and t-shirt

UPAC Financial Aid does not include:
  • Expenses associated with travel meets (airfare, lodging, food, etc.).

Each family must meet the following requirements upon accepting financial aid from UPAC. If they do not, their financial assistance may be revoked:
  • Each family meets the volunteer hours requirements.
  • Each swimmer must attend the majority of practices offered to their group.
  • Each swimmer must attend three meets total throughout the season (September - August).
  • Each family has an active email account that they check regularly.
  • Each family pays their monthly co-pay on time and in full.

Guidelines
  • A copy of your most recent Federal Income Tax filing or approved alternative documentation (Free/Reduced Lunch Letter, etc.) must be included for your application to be considered.
  • Swimmers must be registered to be guaranteed a place on the team. Receipt of financial aid does not guarantee a spot on the team as we cannot hold spots even for swimmers who have swum in previous seasons. Registration is first come, first served.
  • Financial Aid is for the current season year only. Applicants receiving financial aid must apply each seasonal year. Our swim year starts on September 1 and runs through August 31.
  • All financial aid may be reviewed periodically and is subject to increase or decrease based upon changed financial circumstances of the applicant. Toward this end, UPAC may request updated financial information from any applicant awarded financial aid at any time during the seasonal year.
  • Swimmer attendance will be reviewed quarterly and failure to meet attendance requirements may result in a cancelation of financial aid.
