3rd Annual Fly-In Meet Recap

Aaron Hughes

Sharks,

The 3rd Annual February Fly-In was a great success! It was incredibly humbling to see the team-wide support put forth to host UPAC’s largest meet ever! Thank you to all those who volunteered in any capacity over the weekend, in preparation for the event, or in event clean up. Thank you, and go Sharks!

Overall, we had 75% of our team in attendance - our 3rd highest percentage since 2021. It is so fun to see the athletes from different groups interacting and supporting each other behind the lanes! And, this not being a peak-performance meet for our older Sharks, the team still saw a 69.8% best time mark, not counting new event swims. Way to go, Sharks!

I would like to shout out the Silver group in particular. Silver is our most age-diverse group, but it was clear throughout the meet, Silver athletes were smiling, excited for the accomplishments of their teammates, and were having fun competing! As a group, the Silvers achieved 78% best times - again, not counting new event swims, of which there were many!

A special congratulations to Silver’s Charlotte Anderson (8) for breaking the 8 & Under team record in the 25 Fly, with a time of 17.23!
