We just finished our 2nd and 3rd week of practice, personal bests take time and commitment. The majority of our PB's were achieved in our 12 & under age groups. The 12 & unders tend to see more personal bests earlier in the season because they participate in fewer meets and have technique issues that can be corrected with consistent practice. Our 13 & overs require weeks of practice to build yardage and to continue to refine strokes. The first 4 weeks of the season are used to get our swimmers acquainted with coaches, practice schedules and getting used to being back in the water. Over the next 12-14 weeks we will gradually increase yardage and continue to focus on technique. As we get into February we will reduce yardage and taper for our March Championship meets. Not everyone has Championship meet goals and that is perfectly fine. Our goal as a club and my focus as the head coach is to do my absolute best to help your swimmer achieve their personal goals. As of today I've received goals from 46 of our 250 swimmers. Please take some time to review goals and get those to me and to your swimmer's coach. Swimming is just like any other sport, the more time spent in the water, the better chance of success. If your swimmer misses a practice for any reason, they are allowed to make up that practice as it fits your schedule. Please communicate with me so I can communicate with coaches.
PVS has not posted 2026 Championship Qualifying times but attached are the 2025 cuts.
Today is the last day to register for our team bowling event on Saturday.
Hope you have a great week.
Coach Russ
