2026 Student Visionaries of the Year (SVOY) Campaign

Centreville Swim Club

Dear CSC families,

I hope you are all doing well! My name is Cara Portella and I am an 11th grade student at Centreville High School. I am also a previous member of CSC and the LRR Stingrays swim team!

I am extremely excited to share with you that I was selected to represent Centreville High School in the Blood Cancer United (BCU) 2026 Student Visionaries of the Year (SVOY) campaign.  From January 24th through March 14, other candidates and I from all across the nation will be competing to see who can raise the most funds and awareness for Blood Cancer United's mission to cure blood cancers.

I applied to be a candidate in this campaign because of my baby brother, Xavier, who has been battling leukemia since last fall. It has been an exceptionally difficult time for my family and Xavier has gone through countless medical procedures and treatments. I want to help other families and communities who are dealing with cancer and provide them with support and let them know that we are all in this together.

My goal is to raise $75,000 for this cause and I need your help. There are many opportunities to help support our efforts and partner with this worthy cause. I am on the lookout for possible sponsors who would be willing to partner with my team and I in this campaign. If you have any connections to businesses large or small I would love to come into contact with them! If you know somebody who would be willing to help me or if you would just like to provide a few contacts of possible businesses that would be amazing! My contact information is listed below so feel free to send me a text message or shoot me an email! Thank you all so much and I'm looking forward to making a difference in families with cancer lives!

Sincerely,
Cara Portella
