Manor Monsters Swim Update for the Week of 6/28/2021

Good morning, Manor Monster Swim Families!

We hope you had a great weekend and are geared up for the week ahead. It's a light week for us, with one away meet and practices on the docket. Let's get to it!

1) MANOR @ ARMY-NAVY - 6/29/2021

For our only meet of the week, we travel to Arlington tomorrow night for our first away meet of the season, against Army-Navy Country Club! Traffic can be fickle this time of day -please plan to give yourself plenty of time to get there. Our family intends to leave our house around 4:40. Please note: ANCC has two campuses - our event is at their ARLINGTON campus, not Fairfax. Please double check this when you enter it in your GPS - each year, we inevitably have a family or two (and even a coach, one time!) accidentally head to the wrong campus LOL!

Please sign up today to volunteer and indicate whether your swimmer(s) will swim tomorrow on TeamUnify. If you have not indicated you are unavailable, the coaches will assume you are swimming!

Army-Navy has asked to start the meet a bit earlier, at 6:10 pm, so that we can run an efficient meet and finish up before sunset.

Here are the particulars:

Date: Tuesday, June 29

Location: Army-Navy Country Club - 1700 Army Navy Dr., Arlington, VA 22202

Time: Warm-ups at 5:40 pm; Meet begins at 6:10 pm

What to bring: goggles, cap (MCC - our order should be in by tomorrow and we will have them for sale if you need one), team suit, cover-up, towel, small activities to keep swimmers occupied between events (cards and small games are great), towel, and YOUR MANOR MANNERS!

Food and beverage: In addition to beverage service and snack bar, ANCC invites us to enjoy a buffet beginning at 7:00 p.m. with a variety of salads, grilled chicken tenders, quesadillas, and shrimp poppers. Your Manor Member # will be charged. Cost: $16/Adults; $13/Children 5-12; Free/Children 4 & under.

2) CAPS

Caps *should* be arriving at Casa Feldman later this evening! If so, we will have caps available for sale during warm-ups tomorrow! We will be in the viewing area near the snack bar near where you enter the pool. Your Manor Member # will be charged - no cash needed.

3) ABSENCES FOR NEXT WEEK

We know some will be traveling for the 4th and may extend their vacations into next week. Please take a moment on TeamUnify this week to indicate your availability for next week's meets - RELAYS @ Army-Navy on Tuesday and Manor @ Congressional Thursday. This is of particular importance for Relays, as the teams are built early and even one absence can affect your swimmer's other teammates. Thank you for your prompt attention to this!

4) PRACTICE SCHEDULE

Please note: We WILL have practice this Friday am (7/2), but NO PRACTICE on Monday am or pm (7/5). Enjoy your 4th of July weekend!
