Manor Monsters Swim Update for the Week of 7/11/2021
Good morning, Manor Monster Swim families!
Our apologies for just getting this out to you (but thankfully, you all already know the drill for this evening) - Steve and I were dealing with a broken elevator in our home that took our attention for much of yesterday and then we experienced some WiFi issues in the evening due to the storm. Without further ado - here we go!
1) TONIGHT'S MEET - EDGEMOOR @ MANOR
Edgemoor travels from Bethesda to us tonight for our final out-of division meet of the season! It's going to be hot evening, so be prepared for that! Here are the particulars:
Date: Tuesday, July 13
Location: Manor CC
Time: Warm-ups at 5:20 pm; Meet begins at 6:30 pm
What to bring: goggles, cap, team suit, towel, cover-up, small activities to keep swimmers occupied between events (cards and small games are great), towel, and YOUR MANOR MANNERS!
Food and beverage: The Manor pizza oven will be available under the upstairs dining room balcony. The Pool Snack Bar will also be open for food and beverage service. A chit bar will be available on the pavilion.
Volunteers: We are still in need of volunteers -
timers, clerk of course, table worker, and one stroke and turn official (must be certified for this one). If you can help, please sign up - as usual, beverage tickets will be given out to all volunteers, so think of volunteering as a great way to stay hydrated and cool this evening LOL!
2) MANOR MANNERS REMINDER
Even though the season is winding down, we wanted to remind everyone to have their Manor Manners on display at all times, whether we are home or away. Last week at Congressional, we know that everyone was very excited and eager to get out of the cold rain at the end of our meet (we were, too!), but in our haste, our swimmers left our team area a big mess. Coach Todd, Steve, and John needed to stay behind to clean up lots of trash and put the area back in order.
Please remind all swimmers that it is their responsibility to keep the team area clean so that we leave a positive impression, whether we are here at home or visiting other clubs. Even if it's not their mess, please ask them to help their team and clean it up anyway. Thank you so much for helping us get out this important reminder so that we can show everyone what an awesome, respectful bunch of kids we have!
3) ABSENCES FOR NEXT WEEK
After tonight's meet, the Coaches will be looking at swimmers' times to begin building the lineup for A-Division Championships (aka "Divisionals"). Please take a moment on TeamUnify this week to indicate your availability for next Tuesday as soon as possible. It is not yet guaranteed that your swimmer will qualify for Divisionals, but we do not want to leave any slots unfilled for this important end-of-season meet; therefore, all swimmers should indicate their availability. Coaches will then share who has qualified for Divisionals as soon as possible. The link to our TeamUnify site is just below to help you. Thank you so much for your prompt attention to this!
4) BACKORDERED SUITS
Any backordered suits that are left are in the pool guard house - feel free to stop in to pick yours up!
