Spring Lake Park Outlasts Centennial
During its second dual meet of the 2020-2021 season, the Centennial Boys Swimming Team lost to Spring Lake Park with a score of 84 to 101. Centennial walked away from the meet with three first place finishes. Hunter Belting won both the 50 freestyle and the 100 butterfly while Riley McNamara placed first in diving. Despite the lack of first place finishes, Centennial was able to stay in the meet to the end by placing second and third in both the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay and by placing all three of its swimmers in the top five positions in six events of the nine individual events. Some highlights from the meet were senior Aidan Gillen’s :51.79 time in the 100 freestyle and Joe Murray’s 100 breaststroke and 200 freestyle performances which advanced him on the middle school's Top 10 All Best Times lists in both events.
