For the fourth year in a row, Centennial came out on top of the twelve team Northwest Suburban Conference Junior Varsity Swimming and Diving Championship Meet. The victory did not come easily as the Cougars spent most of the meet chasing the Elks for the top spot. It was not until the 100 Backstroke, when Brennan Nielson, Chase Horstman, Quinlan Wells, Brendan Chretien, and Danny Grieman took the 2nd through 6th place finishes, respectively, that the championship was firmly in Centennial hands. More important than the win, the Cougars’ success...

These short speeches given by the eight upperclassmen greatly motivated the team to perform at a high level against Anoka, and Centennial’s coaching staff was very pleased at the results. At the conclusion of the meet, the Cougars had 62 personal best performances and outscored the Tornadoes in 10 of...

Before the start of the January 25, 2024 meet with Champlin Park, Head Coach Pete Crawford told his coaching staff that it looks like the Cougars should win the meet, but there could be surprises. Crawford stated that “my past experiences with the Rebels is that they often pull out hidden talent when we swim them or their known talent often swim exceptionally well against us”. With this meet being Champlin Park’s Senior Night, the Cougar Coaching staff braced itself for the unexpected. Coach Pete’s warnings proved to be well...

Prior to the meet with Coon Rapids, Head Coach Pete Crawford told his swimmers that “competing against Coon Rapids allows me to put together a line-up that will give you the opportunity to swim events that you are not use too. It gives both me as a coach and you as athletes the chance to discover new talents and abilities that the team has.” Despite swimming line-up that was different from the ones used in the past two meets, the Cougars dominated the Cardinals in eight of the twelve events...

Centennial's January 11th, 2024 dual meet against Maple Grove proved to be the Cougars' biggest change so far this season. With its 97 point to 86 point loss, the Cougars hopes of getting to conference championship meet came to an end. Reflecting on the meet, Assistant Coach Kevin Setterholm stated that “there were many close races and often times the Cougars were the stronger swimmers, but again and again the Maple Grove athletes outperformed the Cougars with faster and more powerful turns.” All three of Centennials' swimming coaches were quick...
